Panex®
Naming and visual identity for a manufacturer of wall and ceiling panels
Context
A company creating contemporary surfaces for commercial, public, and residential interiors approached us to build a new brand.
Its products are made for architects, interior designers, developers, and businesses looking for more than just a decorative finish — they need a reliable solution for the spaces they design and build.
We started by looking at the market: how brands in the category presented themselves, which visual approaches had become predictable, and where there was room for something more distinctive and precise.
That helped us understand that Panex should not look like another generic construction brand. It needed an identity built for a professional audience — clean, confident, guided by a clear internal logic, and flexible enough to work across different formats.

The name
The name Panex came straight from the product.
The opening “Pan-” hints at panels, while the rest gives the name a more technical, international feel. We wanted something short and distinctive — a new word that would sound professional, be easy to remember, and work across different markets without needing translation.
We also kept trademark availability across different markets in mind from the start. A brand with international ambitions needs a name that has room to grow.
Panex sounds concise, technical, and confident.

The identity idea

The Panex symbol is built on the idea of perspective.
It resembles two planes meeting at a single vanishing point. Like two walls in a room. Like a space gaining depth. Like the surfaces the brand works with.
This ties Panex directly to architecture and interiors — without explaining the idea too literally.

THE DESIGN SYSTEM
We did not want the symbol to be just a decorative element placed beside the wordmark.
So we built a system in which the perspective shifts depending on the symbol’s position in the layout. When the symbol moves upward, sideways, or downward, the vanishing point moves with it.
The symbol seems to respond to the space around it.
Because of this, the identity begins to behave like an architectural system of its own — with direction, depth, and a clear internal logic.

Layout and communication
The Panex system is designed to be flexible.
The wordmark and symbol do not always need to appear together. They can take on different roles: the wordmark identifies the brand, while the symbol structures the composition, creates emphasis, and continues the idea of perspective.
This allows the identity to adapt easily across very different formats — from presentations and catalogs to outdoor advertising, exterior signage, and digital communication.
The color palette follows the same logic. Dark technical shades make the brand feel grounded and confident. Orange brings energy. Pale blue and white give the whole system room to breathe.

The result
Panex gained more than a name and a visual identity — it gained a brand that matched its ambitions.
A modern, confident identity with a distinctly technological feel helped Panex move beyond the familiar conventions of construction branding and create an impression of European quality before people even encountered the product itself.
The name, visual identity and design system work together, helping the brand remain consistent across every format.
A clear idea.
A distinctive character.
A system built for growth.
** Project completed in 2025
We are very pleased with our collaboration with Slavno. We commissioned them to develop the branding for our new company, PANEX, and the result fully met our expectations.
This is not the first time we have worked with this team, as they previously handled the rebranding of IKON Development.
What we value most is their approach to the work. The team does not impose its own vision. They know how to listen to the client, understand their goals, and help find a solution that truly works.
Before starting the project, they conduct an in-depth analysis of the market and competitors, creating a product that looks stronger, more modern, and more competitive.
They are easy to work with: everything is clear, fast, professional, and free from unnecessary complications. You can feel that the team is genuinely interested not just in completing the task, but in creating a brand that will work for the business.
Thank you for your professionalism and the enjoyable collaboration!
